Dr. Bowman-Hensley is a lifelong North Carolina resident. She was raised in East Asheville, less than two miles from her current practice place. She was educated at ABTCC, UNCA, and WCU. Dr. Bowman-Hensley practiced for many years as a dental hygienist before receiving her doctorate at the University of Kentucky.
After graduation, she returned home to Buncombe County, where she performed public health work before opening her own practice in 2002.
Dr. Bowman-Hensley served as an adjunct faculty member for ABTC and taught clinical assisting and hygiene. She has served the ABTCC Advisory Board and the Buncombe County Board of Health.
She completes an average of 80-100 hours of continuing education every year. She has completed mastery level courses at the Peter Dawson Advanced Clinical Education series. She has also completed the prestigious Dr. John Kois Advanced Dental Studies and AGD Fellowship program.
Dr. Bowman-Hensley and her husband Mike currently reside in Black Mountain with their 4 rescue dogs. When not at her practice, Dr. Bowman-Hensley enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, running, and playing softball and tennis. You may find her any time running somewhere in Black Mountain.
